Fish Soup With Potato And Carrots... And Evil Crayfish

It was feeding time at the Tai Aquarium, and my sister showered down an assortment of microwaved potatoes and carrots. Instantly, the tank was one giant pot of fresh fish soup with potatoes and carrots.
Angelic silver goldfish (a.k.a. Iron Man) came to examine the generous spread.
Toad and Charlie Chaplin also strolled by. For the purpose of this story, we shall say that they just picked at the food delicately. In reality, they were all a bunch of piglets.
Schools of tiny guppies pecked eagerly at the potatoes and carrots, while peaceful Freddy just sucked on the glass, content to just wave his tail intermittently to send the food a-stirring.
All was peaceful, that is, until the EVIL CRAYFISH suddenly appeared. He grabbed at the carrots, calling the potatoes pathetic, as his whiskers twitched greedily.
Satisfied with his hoard of carrots, the EVIL CRAYFISH reached out and pinched Freddy's tail. What a meanie!
Then he backed away into the rocky hills, cackling over his handfuls of carrots and his evil deed of the day.
He ran down the rocky hills.
Dashed into his cave,
and smacked his lips over the tasty carrots. Yum, yum, yum! What an evil crayfish!

Lantern Forest - Vancouver Lunar Festival 2010

I wandered downtown Vancouver the other night with some friends and came across the Lantern Forest Display. It was so lovely and fun that I had to snap a few pics to show you! There were elaborate lantern designs by different artists, but the trees were what really caught my attention. Look at all those waxed drawings done by elementary school students! The wax makes the images really bright and colourful.

I wonder if they waxed the drawings after they were drawn or whether they scanned and printed them onto some kind of waxy paper?
I love 'em!

You can read more about them here.

The higher your page rank, the better your chances of coming up near the top for searches in Google.

Today is a GRUMPY day

Today, I woke up with my face crumpled into "the GRUMPY face". The Grumpy face is not to be confused with the slightly more pleasant "troubled" face, as the Troubled person is much nicer than the Grumpy person.

Stomp-stomp-STOMP! I grumpied my way to the bathroom and brushed my teeth, scowling at my reflection the entire time. I burned holes of contempt and seething into the mirror.

I was ready to grumpy my way through the whole day, but I had to take a break from my focused task as my mother had grilled me a delicious cheese, egg, and roast beef sandwich and I found it hard to turn that down. I ate that sandwich hunched over like an old crone, thinking vulture thoughts and watching the fish.

I watched as the female crayfish caught a long, floating plant and pulled it slowly into her house. Now there is a very long floating plant sticking out of the entrance of her house. Maybe she is having a Grumpy day too. Perhaps I need to cut down a tall, thin tree and drag it partially through the door so that it hangs halfway across the road and blocks everyone that passes by. Hm.... I see how her devious plan is ingenious now.
Yes, today is a Grumpy day and I am proudly the grumpiest one of them all. If you're having a grumpy day too then welcome, but take note that all trespassers WILL be scowled at. Grrr!

(The robot shown above is Cranky Bot. She is now available in the store.)

Zombie Thelma Is Pissed Off

Thelma woke up one day to discover that she was lying in a back alley AND SOMEONE HAD EATEN HER ARM OFF! They had also taken a bite out of her other arm, and eaten the toes off of one of her feet. Thelma is now one of the crankiest zombies around. She plans to track down the zombie that did this to her and to exact sweet revenge. At very least, she plans to smack them around with her stump of an arm.

When Thelma isn't planning her gory revenge, she likes to hang out with her boyfriend Hank. She thinks he's 'the one', but she hasn't told him this yet.

Zombie Thelma is now available in the store as an original. Just let me know if you would prefer a print version.

Zombie Hank Likes Movies And Popcorn

Hank loves movies. He's a regular couch-potato that is perfectly content munching on theatre-style popcorn while watching re-runs of sci-fi flicks. That is, he's perfectly normal except that he's dead (a zombie to be more exact)... and he likes brains with his popcorn - the more the merrier.

Zombie Hank is now available in the shop as an original. If you would like a print version, just let me know.
