So if you've ever done freelance work, you will know that it can be terribly frustrating. Good clients can be hard to find, while shifty clients seem to be running amuck. It's like The Tale of Ginger and Pickles, a story by Beatrix Potter. If you run a store that offers unlimited credit, customers will come in crowds every day, but you'll soon be out of a business. The same applies to freelance work. If you offer free samples or work that is meant to be paid for later on, later on never seems to arrive in a timely manner. Most of the time, it will never arrive at all. It is thus best to leave freebies to the good clients that have earned your trust.
