I also finally tried out the Sandbar at Granville Island. My friends rave about it a lot so I've always been curious. The crab and shrimp Benedict was decent, but my wild salmon burger was delicious. It's a nice environment to go to if you're willing to pay about 3 dollars more than the food court for a gourmet burger. I was under the impression that the Sandbar was a fine dining restaurant, but it's actually more casual. It's more like an upscale Earls with a seafood focus.
My favourite fine dining restaurant to go to is still the Fish House at Stanley Park. I went there for lunch once and was really impressed with the food quality, the presentation, the atmosphere, and the service.
I like going to a fine dining restaurant once in a while. You pay a lot more for less food, but the chefs go to great lengths to decorate and design your meal as art. You can take your time to enjoy the way everything looks and to really savour the smells and tastes.

Albe and went to Fish House once for the Summerlicious (or whatever it's called - Dineout?) menu and I wasn't very impressed.
I, on the other hand, prefer Sandbar, which I happened to stumble across completely by accident when I was showing Granville Island (and surroundings) to some out-of-town friends.
Yeah, I remember Albe telling me that before I went there. I didn't have very high expectations when I went to Fish House, but they pleasantly surprised me. We sat by the fireplace and my lunch, an almond crusted wild salmon fillet, was really good! It was served with Kale and some other tiny side servings and I've been craving the Kale ever since. They made it taste slightly salty like those seaweed snacks Karen is always eating. I was left with a really good impression of the food.
I love salmon!
Lol, I love salmon too!
Oh! I am so excited to see how your doll turns out!! :) I bet it will look great! :)
And I agree with fine dining! (Not that I go too much... haha!) but it is fun to have dinner be an event!!
Hope you have a wonderful day!
