Home Grown Tomatoes As a Gift

With so many yummy tomatoes ready in the garden for eating, it's a good opportunity to give some away as a gift. Here's one fun way to do it.

You'll need the following materials:
  1. Handful of cherry tomatoes from your garden
  2. Empty, clean yogurt container
  3. Plastic ziplock bag
  4. Country-themed cardstock
  5. Sharpie and ink pen
  6. Stapler
First, pick some fresh cherry tomatoes and wash them. Pile them into a washed yogurt container. It's okay if they don't all fit into the container. It's fun to have a few lying around.

Put them into a ziplock bag and seal it.Get a piece of country-themed cardstock and cut it to fit the length of your ziplock bag. Make it double the height of your label and tall enough to cover the ziplock when folded over.
Fold it in half over the top of your ziplock bag, and secure with 2 staples spaced out to the sides. Write the name of your farm on the front in Sharpie pen. I wrote, "Tai Farms". Use a thinner pen to trace around the first letters, and add other text like "Home-Grown Tomatoes".
On the back of the label, you can write other fun stuff like, "Pre-washed", "Organic", "Pesticide-free". I also wrote, "Best Before: they rot", and "Picked on: September 23, 2009". That shows them just how fresh they are!

Have fun!
