And Many More!

It was a marvelous birthday with all the trimmings a girl could wish for.

My sweetheart picked me up early from work, and brought me a lovely bouquet of gerberas, mums, and bird of paradise. He also brought some sushi, which I had been craving as of late. What a dear!

My sister noted that I had mentioned wanting some cheese and green grapes yesterday, and guess what she brought down for me? Yes! A plate of cubed cheeses and some juicy green grapes. My goodness, what a treat! I gobbled them all up instantly! (They were very good.)

My aunt and cousin from Australia were in town and they came over to celebrate. My mother cooked up a delish meal, and my dad remembered to bring home a fresh steak for me. My dad is a genius at cooking steaks and I ask him to cook me a steak every year for my birthday. There's really no comparison to his steaks, I swear. I've eaten steaks all over the place, and Dad's steaks are still better. I'm best to just save my money and go home for the good stuff!

After dinner, my mother had some dessert soup with sweet dumplings for me, and after that, it was cake time! Oh boy! I didn't really know what to expect of the cake my sister baked for me, but she didn't let me down. The cake was delicious. It really was. There were four layers of cake with cool whip and fruit in between, topped with a very light and yummy strawberry mousse. I feel very blessed to have such a good cake for my birthday. (Thanks, Sis!!!)

I had a very good time, too, with my aunt and cousin. I hope they will visit again soon. And thus another birthday passes. But, never fear, more birthday festivities are a-coming! I still have to celebrate with my dear friends this weekend. Lucky, lucky me!

Happy Birthday, Marie! I'm glad to hear you had a wonderful evening.

I was checking out your Etsy site, and it looks fantastic! I especially love the original paintings... the lemon sherr birds are a definitely a favorite. I look forward to seeing more of your creations. (Oh and I am still enjoying Sylvie very much. She is much a part of our family as she watches us from her special spot in our living room... thank you)
