Walking up the street, the sidewalks are strewn with leaves. The air smells sweetly of earth, berries, and rain-soaked leaves, slightly rotting. Carbon imprints leave dark brown reminders of other leaves, now missing in action. Like chalk tracings after a crime, they tell you exactly where a leaf once laid. It's utterly beautiful, and yet a little morose - Summer is over.
