Paper Butterflies For A Pretty Butterfly Mobile

A customer sent me a photo of a paper butterfly mobile that they wanted to make for their daughter's room. She wanted to know if I could cut out some butterflies in a sturdy black and white paper for her to try it out with. So if you fancy trying it out yourself, there are now some cardstock black and white butterflies in the shop.

If you need another colour, just let me know and I'll see if I have some in my paper stash.
In other news, I retook the pictures for the recycled black and white (text) paper butterfly cut outs. I think this looks much better. What do you think?

Have a great weekend!

hmm, i wonder if it would work (or be too flexible) if one used the foamy material (the kind that is sold in dollar stores in a package like construction paper)

I think it would work. You could cut bigger butterflies then since the foam will hold it's shape pretty well. About 2 inches in size should be fine.

I've seen some pre-cut foam shapes too... including hearts.

What I'm trying to figure out is how to attach the butterflies to the string. My customer said she was just planning to use tape, but I wonder if spaced out knots would do the trick too if you threaded them... like with paper cranes.

what if you used a brad punch to put a tiny hole in the middle of them.. then thread your line through and tied a tiny knot underneath? adorable btw

Hm... that's a good idea. My brad punch makes a fairly large hole though. I would need thicker string. Maybe a little bead and THEN a knot? This is sounding complicated now! (yet strangely attractive...)

That mobile is to die for!
