A Day At The Fair And Soccer Pitch

In addition to meeting up with old friends, I have been eating good food and hanging out with my awesome cousin from out of town. Here are some pics:
This is the yummy pulled pork sandwich I had at the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE). It was affordably priced for fair food, and quite filling! Mmmmm! My sweetie brought me a cherry margarita with an umbrella. He knows I like those umbrellas.
Yes, and then I ate this hen and her chicks... alive. No, no, just kidding! These cuties were hanging out in the barn area. I found them too irresistable to not photograph. Ah, I love animal babies.

I did eat a half chicken roasting on an open charcoal pit though. They have that at the fair every year and it's soooooo goooood! That chicken is totally overpriced, but it's a tradition. (And traditions must be obeyed when they smell so good!).
Later on that night, we went to a soccer game. I was trying to snap a picture of the pitch when the mascot noticed the camera-happy fans around me, and began to strike sexy poses for us. It was very amusing.I like the way the soccer pitch looks when it's partially lit by artificial light and twilight. It's nice.

So here I am back at square one in the job arena, but advancing quickly in the living life section. The anxiety of not having a job anymore is catching up, I'll admit. I don't really know what to do with myself regarding that. However, I am valuing the opportunity I have to take a breather and catch up with all the friends and life experiences that I've been missing out on.

I hope you have a good day!

I Dream Of Moss Terrariums

I saw this moss terrarium in Blithe Gardens Etsy shop the other day, and fell in love. I instantly wanted a moss terrarium of my own, and rushed to Michaels with 50% off coupon in hand. However, I was dismayed to discover that I could not find the jar of my dreams. Only delicate, ultra-breakable jars were to be found, and I knew without a doubt that such fragile bottles would not survive my accident-prone nature.
V. and I stopped by the thrift store next, only to discover that it was closed on Sundays. Nooooo! How could it be closed on the one day that I needed a vintage jar! I went home with a heavy heart. It was then that I remembered that my mother liked to recycle. So off the recycle stash I went, and found this! The former Citron-tea jar! I tore the labels off the sides and top, scrubbed off the glue with eye-makeup remover, and washed the whole thing down with sudsy soap. Ta da! A jar ready for terrarium making!
But when I returned to Blithe Garden's store to examine her moss terrariums, it occurred to me that she would never make a terrarium from a run-of-the-mill citron tea jar. I felt saddened, and resolved to continue my search for the perfect jar another time.

Luckily, my mother had just the tasty dinner to wipe all my sorrows away. Mmmm!
And my brother surprised me with something he found at Daiso that day - some Lilo and Stitch cotton swabs which are really too cute to use. Can you believe these things? They are individually packaged too! The Japanese make the cutest things.
After such a fun time with my family, I went downstairs to find my jar looking rather empty. Blithe Gardens had little toadstools in her terrariums, and it occurred to me that I had just such a toadstool in my arsenal of made things. I popped my bottlecap pincushion felt toadstool in the jar, and thought it looked very amusing indeed.
I think this should tide me over nicely until I do find that dream moss terrarium jar. What do you think?

I'm fond of this song "River Flows in You" by Yiruma:

This one is really quite nice too. It's "Lullaby" by The Mitch Hansen Band. If you like this song, check out the other Twilight-inspired songs here. I'm a-lovin' them!:

This is Sparta (Remix)

The High Tech Industry

If you work in the high tech industry, or know of anyone who just happens to work in any project setting, perhaps you will find this video interesting... and just a little familiar.
